y'know 20 years ago email was dead easy to set up, I would've done it without a second thought.
10 years ago it was still easy... but also massively choked with spam, so I never bothered.
nowadays spam is under much better control, but at the cost of everything being so insanely complicated I want nothing to do with it.
this is why we can't have nice things.
@mom Yes, I remember having to set up an SMTP server in a univ project and there were basic protocols but it was not very complicated. These days, I am too far away from the coding world to be of much help, but I can imagine that the robustness of the systems makes setups very complex--so many gotchas.
